Carers may also be eligible for assistance under the programme in acknowledgement of the vital role they play in the veteran and defence community.
A carer’s eligibility is based on the eligibility of the entitled person they are caring for.

Even if you receive Veterans Home Care Services you may also eligible to receive other government funding or community care package. CPE Group can combine your services to enable you to get the most that you are entitled to under both Government funded program.
Applying for Veterans Home Care
To be eligible to apply for an assessment for funding through the Veterans Home Care Programme, you will need to have a
Gold Card Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Health Card – All Conditions within Australia)
White Card DVA Health Card – Specific Conditions
Assessment for funding
If you are eligible, you will need to have an assessment with a Veterans Home Care Assessment Agency:
assessments can be completed by phone, or home assessment if that is deemed to be more beneficial to the entitled person or representative
A Veterans Home Care assessor will discuss the entitled person’s circumstances to identify the range of services that may be needed
If there is an assessed need for services, the assessor will arrange services to meet that assessed need
