Support at Home
What is Support at Home?
Support at Home is funding provided by the Government to enable you to live in your own home for as long as possible and remain independent, comfortable and safe.
Who is eligible for Support at Home?
To be eligible for Support at Home you need to;
- Be 65 years of age or older or 50 years or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people
- Live at home; ie a private residence - you do not need to be the owner of the home and you do not need to be the sole occupant of that home
- People over the age of 50 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless and
- Have a need for assistance with some everyday tasks and this includes gardening, housework, laundry, shopping, some home maintenance and if you are unable to drive, transport too.
What is Grandfathered?
If you are someone who got approval for funding before or on 12th September 2024.
- If you did not pay a contribution prior to Support at Home, you will not have to do so now
- If you did pay a contribution, you will continue to pay but not more than what you paid before
- You will be able to continue using your funding for services that have been selected by you and your Care Manager, provided they are on the list of approved Support at Home services
- Care recipients who had a Home Care Package will retain any unspent funds currently accrued
What are Co-Contributions?
The amount you will be asked to contribute by the Government towards your care based on either the Income Test or, the Age Pension Assessment, and also on the classification of the service you are accessing.
Can you help me to get AT/HM funding or a level upgrade?
Yes we can, just speak to your Care Manager about your needs and concerns and they will assist in applying for additional funding.
How do I get Support at Home?
You need to call My Aged Care and ask for an assessment. If you find the process confusing as many people do, we can offer our free Navigation Assist Program. We provide the one to one support you need to navigate the application every step of the way. There is no commitment and we do not discuss CPE unless asked. If I have Support at Home funding but would like extra services, can I pay privately for these services?
Yes you can. One of our Care Managers can help to find the best combination for you.
DVA
If I am receiving funding from Veterans' Home Care, is it possible to have Support at Home funding too?
Yes, if you are assessed as eligible for both. CPE can combine your services to maximise the supports you receive, which you are entitled to under both Government funded programs. One of our Care Managers could advise you on this.
Can I ask for services offered under the Veterans' Home Care Program to be provided by CPE?
DVA usually allocates a service provider for you. However, as we are approved to provide Veterans' Home Care, you can ask if it's possible for them to use CPE to provide your services. We have had Clients who have done this but the decision rests with DVA.
If I have Government Funding but would like extra services, can I pay privately for these?

NDIS
What are your NDIS Fee charges?
We charge fees in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (previously the NDIS Price Guide).
Does CPE provide NDIS accommodation?
No. CPE does not provide any accommodation. Including STA (Short Term Accommodation), SIL (Supported Independent Living) and SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation).

Private Clients
Do you accept Private Clients?
Yes we do.
Are there any restrictions on the services I can have as a Private Client?
You can access any of the services shown on our Services Pages and if there is anything you require that isn't on there, please call us on 1300 665 082 for a chat with one of our friendly and experienced staff to discuss whether it could be included in your care plan.
How do I pay as a Private Client?
You will receive monthly statements and you can choose to pay via invoice, direct debit or credit card.
My Care Plan
Will my care plan be reviewed on a regular basis?
Yes. This will happen on a regular basis as part of your care management.
Will I be charged if I need to discuss my care?
No. There would be no additional charge for this.
Can I choose my support worker?
Yes. We ask each client to choose a team of our Support Workers and we work with you until you find the right people for your team. This means there should always be someone available who you can feel comfortable with and can trust.
Can I choose when the support worker comes to me?
Yes. We discuss this with each client to find the times and days that will be right for them.
If I already have a Support Worker that I’m happy with, can they stay with me if I join CPE?
Yes, provided they meet our criteria for our Support Workers. We can work with them if they need extra training or qualifications.
What qualifications do your support staff have?
All support staff have the appropriate qualifications. In addition to the above, all support staff will require police clearance, a reliable and safe car, car insurance.
What training do your Support Workers have?
Each one must meet all required certification and compliance requirements before commencing employment and we ensure they continue to grow with ongoing training - both online and in person beginning with a two day comprehensive induction workshop covering the high standards of care, professional conduct and client-centred practice we expect before they meet our clients.
Will there be someone available if I need to call the office?
Yes. During office hours the team will be available if you need to talk to someone, If there is an emergency outside these hours there will be an on-call team member available for you to speak to until 9:30pm each evening and at weekends.
When I call the office, will I always be speaking to someone in Perth?
Yes, you would be speaking with one of our team members here in Perth.
Can I transfer to CPE from another provider?
Yes. You would need to have a chat with one of our Client Care Managers first to make sure this is the best option for you before you transfer to us.
Can I transfer from CPE to another Provider if I’m unhappy with your service?
Yes. We would hope to resolve any problems and would regret seeing you leave however if we have failed to live up to your expectations, we will do whatever we can to make any transition as smooth as possible.

Yes, we are a West Australian family owned and operated provider. CPE Home Care runs on the value of providing the same standard of care to our clients that we would expect for our own family.

Do you have other offices interstate?
No, we only operate in the greater Perth area.
What areas do you service?
All Perth Metro areas, from Yanchep in the north to Mandurah south of the river and out to Parkerville in the hills.
What do I do if I would like to provide feedback or a complaint?
We encourage all our clients to send us feedback. If it’s positive we know we’re getting it right and if it’s something that we should be doing better it gives us the opportunity to learn from your experience and improve . We also have a client survey each year to get more in depth feedback on what we do well, what works and what may not work and what areas need improvement.
Do you have your own nurses?
Yes, we have a team of both Enrolled and Registered Nurses led by our clinical lead. They focus on our Clients medical needs, perform nursing assessments and monitor specific health conditions.
Do you have your own physio’s and podiatrists?
Yes, we have our own team of physio’s and podiatrists who can provide their services in accordance with your funding type and if it is a once off or ongoing basis.
